Telecoms Field Service Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and hands-on Telecoms Field Service Technician to join their team based in Nottingham . You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites and various field locations. This role requires excellent technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. As a field technician, you will be a key representative of our client in the communities they serve in and around Nottingham .

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications equipment, including broadband modems, routers, and voice services.
• Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical issues with customer equipment and network connections.
• Conduct routine maintenance and upgrades on network infrastructure and customer premises equipment.
• Respond to service calls and emergency repair requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Educate customers on the use of their services and equipment, ensuring their satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and time spent on service calls.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in telecommunications or electronics is a plus.
• Previous experience as a Field Technician, especially in the telecom industry , is preferred.
• Proficiency with hand tools, testing equipment, and basic electronics.
• Knowledge of residential and business telecommunications systems, including DSL, fiber optics, and Wi-Fi.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential for travel.
