Field Service Technician - Repair & Maintenance

About the Role

Our client is searching for a competent and adaptable Field Service Technician to join their team supporting clients in and around Reading . This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a range of specialised equipment at customer locations, ensuring minimal disruption to their operations. You will be the face of the company on-site, providing exceptional technical service and building strong client relationships. This position requires a proactive problem-solver with excellent diagnostic skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a field-based capacity, balancing on-site duties with potential remote support or reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic assessments and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance and preventative servicing to ensure equipment reliability.
• Respond to emergency service calls and resolve issues efficiently on-site.
• Accurately document all service activities, parts used, and time spent in the service management system.
• Liaise with customers to explain technical issues and proposed solutions.
• Maintain a well-stocked and organised service vehicle.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar repair and maintenance role.
• Strong technical aptitude in mechanical, electrical, and possibly electronic systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Must possess a valid UK driving license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regularly to client sites within the designated service area.
