Field Telecoms Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a motivated and capable Field Telecoms Engineer to join their team, serving the Plymouth, Devon area and surrounding regions. This hands-on role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications infrastructure at customer sites. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of network equipment and providing excellent on-site technical support. Key Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission telecommunications equipment, including fibre optic and copper cabling systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on network infrastructure to prevent issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve faults reported by customers or detected through network monitoring.
• Provide on-site technical support and guidance to clients, ensuring their satisfaction.
• Complete service reports accurately and submit them in a timely manner.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times whilst on client premises.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a field service or technical support role, preferably within the telecommunications sector.
• Good understanding of telecoms equipment and installation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent customer-facing skills and a professional demeanor.
• Must possess a valid UK driving license and be comfortable working unsociable hours when required.
