Financial Accountant (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Financial Accountant to join their team on a fully remote basis, supporting operations from Nottingham . This role is critical for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial reporting and accounting operations. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing the general ledger, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate is a qualified professional with a strong understanding of financial accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively independently in a remote environment. This position offers the chance to contribute significantly to the financial health of the company without the need for physical office presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Manage the general ledger , ensuring all journal entries and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure efficient cash flow management.
• Perform detailed financial analysis, including variance explanations and trend identification.
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Contribute to process improvements within the accounting department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a financial accounting role, with a strong understanding of financial reporting.
• Expertise in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills are essential.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage deadlines effectively in a remote setting.
