Financial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to become an integral part of their finance department located in Coventry . This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all financial reporting, managing ledger activities, and supporting the wider finance function with essential accounting tasks. You will play a key role in the month-end close process, assist with statutory reporting, and contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting procedures, supporting the firm's commitment to financial excellence and operational transparency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger and ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any reconciling items.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Support the Financial Controller with audit requirements and provide necessary documentation.
• Process accounts payable and receivable as needed, ensuring efficient cash flow management.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of financial processes and controls.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience in a financial accounting role, with a strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
• Proficiency with accounting software packages and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Familiarity with UK GAAP or IFRS.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with strong organizational skills.
