Financial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a precise and dedicated Financial Accountant to join their established team in Cambridge . This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. You will be heavily involved in the month-end and year-end closing procedures, as well as statutory reporting. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and file statutory financial accounts in accordance with UK GAAP and relevant regulations.
• Manage the financial aspects of the annual audit, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
• Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts and provide support for financial analysis.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial discipline.

Requirements

• Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent, with proven experience in financial accounting.
• In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards and UK tax legislation.
• Experience with financial software systems and strong Microsoft Excel capabilities.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with the finance team and auditors in Cambridge .
