Financial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and technically skilled Financial Accountant to join their finance team in Cambridge . This role is key to ensuring the accuracy and compliance of the company's financial statements and statutory reporting. You will be involved in a range of accounting activities, including ledger management, reconciliations, and year-end close processes. Working within a hybrid model, you will collaborate with colleagues both in the office and remotely, contributing to the overall financial health and operational efficiency of the business, with excellent opportunities for professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Manage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
• Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and regulatory filings.
• Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Contribute to process improvements within the accounting function.

Requirements

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent relevant experience.
• Solid experience in Financial Accounting , including general ledger and financial statement preparation.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP or IFRS.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
