Financial Accountant

About the Role

Our client based in the heart of Coventry, West Midlands , is looking to recruit a diligent Financial Accountant to strengthen their finance team. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, managing statutory accounts, and playing a key part in financial compliance for the business. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and other departments to provide financial insights and support operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely statutory financial statements in compliance with FRS 102/UK GAAP.
• Manage the year-end financial audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors.
• Oversee the preparation of VAT, Corporation Tax, and other regulatory filings.
• Perform detailed variance analysis of financial results against budget and forecast.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
• Support the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and controls.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent through experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in a financial accounting or statutory reporting role.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and company law.
• Experience with financial accounting software and ERP systems.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
