Financial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and qualified Financial Accountant to join their remote finance department. This role is critical for managing the company's financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial planning. You will be responsible for preparing month-end and year-end accounts, performing reconciliations, and contributing to audit processes. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced financial accountant to work in a fully remote capacity, collaborating with a team across different locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
• Manage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
• Oversee and execute month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary financial documentation.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with solid experience in financial accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
• Proven ability to prepare financial statements and manage the month-end close process.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
• Self-motivated and disciplined to succeed in a remote working environment, with strong communication skills.
