Financial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and technically skilled Financial Accountant to join their established team in Birmingham . This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy of financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting the financial reporting functions. You will be responsible for preparing statutory accounts, managing balance sheet reconciliations, and contributing to the month-end close process. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory financial statements in compliance with FRS 102.
• Manage and perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with the preparation of tax returns and liaison with external tax advisors.
• Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Requirements

• Newly qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrable experience in financial accounting, including statutory reporting.
• In-depth knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax legislation.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple deadlines.
