About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Financial Controller to lead their finance function in Brighton . This key role involves overseeing all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and financial planning. You will play a strategic role in driving financial performance and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position operates on a hybrid model, offering a blend of office-based responsibilities and remote work flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop and manage the annual budget process and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and tax regulations.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with hybrid working arrangements is beneficial.
