About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of their business, operating on a hybrid basis in Liverpool . This senior role is responsible for managing the accounting team, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to the board. You will play a critical role in financial planning, risk management, and driving the company's financial performance and growth. This is a key leadership position for an experienced finance professional.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the finance and accounting department, including AP, AR, payroll, and management accounting.
Oversee the preparation of all financial reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.
Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support business objectives.
Manage cash flow, working capital, and debt financing arrangements.
Conduct financial analysis, identify key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide insights to senior management.
Ensure compliance with all relevant tax, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial stakeholders.

Requirements

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience.
Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance leadership role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
Experience with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced analytical tools.
