About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead their finance operations in Oxford . This hybrid role requires a strategic thinker who can oversee all accounting functions, ensure financial compliance, and contribute to the company's financial planning and analysis. You will manage a team of accounting professionals, drive process improvements, and provide critical financial insights to senior management, all within a flexible work arrangement that combines office and remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Develop and manage budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards (e.g., UK GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy and efficiency.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Support external audits and manage relationships with auditors.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience with financial software systems and advanced Excel proficiency.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
