About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly competent Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of their company based in Wolverhampton . This senior position is responsible for managing all accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to the executive team. You will play a critical role in driving financial performance and ensuring compliance within the dynamic banking and finance landscape. This role requires strong leadership and a comprehensive understanding of financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Develop and manage the annual budget process, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal controls.
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification required.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit management.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax legislation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
