Job Description
Search are supporting the recruitment of a part-time Financial Controller to join an established professional services business in Edinburgh. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this is a broad, commercially focused role with responsibility for the entire finance function across multiple entities.
This position would suit an experienced Financial Controller or an ambitious Management Accountant looking to step into a more strategic role. You'll have significant exposure to business performance, operational decision making and senior stakeholders whilst maintaining a hands on involvement in financial reporting, forecasting and financial control.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the finance function across multiple group entities
- Produce monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets & cashflow reporting
- Deliver commercial insight & financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Partner with operational leaders to improve profitability & business performance
- Maintain financial controls, balance sheet integrity & statutory compliance
- Manage year-end accounts, consolidations and audit processes
- Oversee payroll, treasury & investment reporting activities
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks & professional advisors
- Lead finance process improvements & system developments
- Manage & develop a small finance team
Skills and experience that will benefit your application:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a Financial Controller or similar leadership role
- Management accounting, forecasting and financial reporting experience
- Experience working across multiple entities and jurisdictions
- Analytical skills with ability to translate financial data into business insight
- Commercial mindset with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience leading process improvements and finance transformation initiatives
- Knowledge of group consolidations, transfer pricing or foreign exchange considerations
- Experience managing or overseeing company investments, treasury activities or investment reporting
