Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client seeks a highly experienced and strategic Financial Controller to lead their accounting operations in Manchester . This senior leadership position is responsible for the overall financial management of the organization, including financial reporting, compliance, risk management, and internal controls. The Financial Controller will play a critical role in shaping financial strategy, driving process improvements, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial information. This is an on-site role requiring a strong presence within the finance department and wider business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking institutions.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing strategic financial insights.
• Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar Financial Controller or senior accounting leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations , and best practices.
• Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced data analysis tools.
