About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee their accounting operations and financial reporting in the vibrant city of Brighton . This senior role is responsible for managing the accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and preparing timely financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards. You will play a crucial role in financial planning, budgeting, and internal controls, contributing significantly to the company's financial stability and strategic objectives. The position requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of financial management and a commitment to excellence in a key coastal business hub.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and direct the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasting.
Collaborate with external auditors during financial statement audits.

Requirements

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles.
Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting standards.
Proven experience in managing and developing accounting teams.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
