Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and meticulous Financial Controller to lead their finance department in Brighton . This senior position is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. You will play a key role in managing the financial health of the organisation, providing strategic financial insights, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations within the banking and finance sector. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and direct all accounting and financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Develop and manage the annual budget process and monitor financial performance against budget.
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
• Oversee tax compliance and work with external auditors during financial audits.
• Provide financial leadership and strategic advice to senior management.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Significant experience (7+ years) in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication abilities.
• Experience in the financial services industry is strongly preferred.
