Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding enterprise in Milton Keynes , is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead their finance department. This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for all aspects of financial management, including accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of financial regulations within the UK. This fully remote position allows for exceptional flexibility, enabling talented professionals from across the UK to contribute to our client's continued success.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant standards.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control systems and policies.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships effectively.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing strategic financial insights to the executive team.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual financial audits.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience.
• Extensive experience in a financial control or senior accounting management role.
• Deep knowledge of UK financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and financial modeling in Excel.
• Proven leadership abilities and experience managing finance teams, preferably in a remote environment.
