Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent and strategic Financial Controller to lead their accounting operations from their base in Milton Keynes . This senior position requires a comprehensive understanding of financial management, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and driving financial performance. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting department, including financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure internal controls are robust.
• Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, providing strategic financial guidance.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and taxation requirements.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous development.
• Prepare financial analysis and reports for senior management and the board of directors.

Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification with a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role.
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards (UK GAAP/IFRS), and tax laws.
• Experience with financial software and ERP systems.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
