Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee their financial operations in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting, managing accounting operations, and driving financial compliance within the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements in compliance with relevant standards.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data integrity.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with various departments to align financial plans with strategic goals.
• Oversee tax compliance and statutory filings, liaising with external auditors and tax advisors as needed.
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support management decision-making, utilising both in-office and remote communication channels.

Requirements

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification, with a minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Extensive experience in financial management, reporting, and compliance within a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), financial regulations, and tax laws.
• Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, adaptable to a hybrid work model.
• Ability to manage a team and drive performance in a dynamic financial landscape.
