Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations in Newcastle upon Tyne . This senior position is responsible for managing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial leadership. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and present monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders.
• Oversee the audit process and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and optimize working capital.
• Provide strategic financial advice and support to the executive team to drive business growth and profitability.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with extensive experience in financial control and management.
• Proven track record in a similar senior finance role, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with financial system implementation and management, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel .
• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
