About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished and strategic Financial Controller to lead their finance function in Leeds . This role operates on a hybrid model, blending essential in-office leadership with the flexibility of remote work. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, compliance, and financial planning. This is a pivotal leadership position requiring strong financial acumen, excellent management skills, and the ability to drive financial strategy to support the company's growth objectives. You will ensure the integrity of financial data, manage risk, and provide key insights to the executive team, contributing to a culture of fiscal responsibility and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and direct all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with all departments.
- Provide strategic financial guidance and analysis to support business decisions.
- Manage banking relationships and optimize cash flow.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial management.
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role.
- Deep understanding of financial accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Strong analytical, strategic planning, and leadership skills.
- Experience with financial software systems and ERP implementation is highly desirable.
