Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to lead their finance function remotely. This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's financial operations, from accounting and reporting to treasury and financial planning. The ideal candidate will be a qualified professional with a strong track record in financial management and a passion for driving financial performance within a remote-first organisation. You will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring robust financial controls and compliance are maintained across the board.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Develop and manage the company's budget and financial forecasting processes.
• Implement and maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and tax laws .
• Manage banking relationships, cash flow, and treasury functions.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.

Requirements

• Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (IFRS /GAAP ), and financial management.
• Experience with financial software systems and strong analytical capabilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
