About the Role
Our client, a prominent business operating in Newcastle upon Tyne , is looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations. This senior position is critical for ensuring financial stability, compliance, and strategic growth. You will be responsible for managing accounting functions, financial reporting, internal controls, and risk management, playing a key role in financial planning and analysis to support executive decision-making. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and direct the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
- Oversee tax compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
- Act as a key liaison with external auditors and tax advisors.
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience in a similar role.
- Extensive knowledge of financial accounting, corporate finance, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record in financial management, strategic planning, and risk assessment.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in financial modeling using Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
