Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee their financial operations in Newcastle upon Tyne . This pivotal role involves managing accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy, and contributing to the strategic financial direction of the company. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP or IFRS.
• Develop and implement robust internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insightful analysis to support business objectives.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 7 years' experience in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and taxation regulations in the UK.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Xero, Sage, NetSuite).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven ability to manage teams and drive process improvements in a hybrid work environment.
