About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent and experienced Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of their established business in Wolverhampton . This senior role involves managing the accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, developing financial strategies, and maintaining robust internal controls. You will be instrumental in driving financial planning, budgeting, and analysis to support the company's growth and profitability objectives. This position requires a proactive leader with a strong accounting background and strategic financial acumen.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/UK GAAP.
Develop and manage the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
Analyze financial performance, identify key trends, and provide strategic insights to senior management.
Oversee cash flow management and optimize working capital.
Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.

Requirements

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Significant experience in financial accounting and management roles, ideally in a similar industry.
Deep understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS.
Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
