About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Financial Controller to oversee their financial operations in Brighton . This leadership role will be responsible for managing the accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and implementing robust internal controls. You will play a key strategic role in financial planning, budgeting, and driving financial performance within the competitive banking and finance industry. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop and implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
• Liaise with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Drive process improvements and efficiency within the finance function in Brighton .

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
• Proven track record as a Financial Controller or in a senior financial management role.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Advanced proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
