About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to oversee the accounting operations and financial reporting for their business in Liverpool . This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with strong financial acumen and experience in managing accounting functions within the banking and finance sector. You will be responsible for directing the accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and supporting strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis. This position offers a blend of operational oversight and strategic contribution within a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and tax legislation.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Extensive experience (7+ years) in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or controller role.
- Deep understanding of financial accounting, management accounting, and regulatory reporting.
- Proficiency in financial management software and advanced analytical tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
