About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations for their growing business in Bristol . This leadership role is responsible for managing the accounting department, ensuring financial compliance, and driving financial performance. You will work closely with senior management to develop financial strategies, manage risk, and optimise profitability. This is a key position for a seasoned finance professional looking to take on significant responsibility and shape the financial future of a dynamic organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and direct the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets.
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes, working with department heads.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including tax reporting.
- Lead financial audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent qualification required.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
