About the Role

Our client in Plymouth is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Financial Controller to lead their finance operations. This senior role involves overseeing all financial activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. You will be responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of the company and providing critical insights to drive business growth and profitability. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and direct all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax and audit.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and financial institutions.

Requirements

• Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant with extensive post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards (UK GAAP/IFRS) and company law.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
