Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations in their Coventry office. This leadership position is critical for ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of the organization. You will be responsible for managing accounting staff, developing financial strategies, and providing expert financial advice to senior management. This role demands a strategic thinker with a strong operational understanding, dedicated to maintaining robust financial controls and driving profitable growth, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence within the finance department.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/UK GAAP.
• Develop and implement internal controls and policies to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships effectively.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience.
• Proven track record in a financial controller or senior finance management role.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in financial software and reporting tools.
