About the Role

Our client seeks an experienced and results-oriented Financial Controller to lead their finance function in Manchester . This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls. You will be a key advisor to senior management, ensuring sound financial governance and strategic financial planning. Based in the heart of Manchester , this position requires a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of financial management principles within a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the accounting team, overseeing daily operations and monthly close processes.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Develop and implement robust internal financial controls to safeguard company assets.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and board presentations.
• Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing strategic financial guidance.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.

Requirements

• Recognized accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Significant experience (7+ years) in financial accounting and control, preferably in a senior role.
• In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards and corporate finance.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
