Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead their finance team based in Coventry . This senior position is responsible for the overall financial health of the company, including managing all accounting operations, financial planning, risk management, and reporting. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in financial management, contributing to robust decision-making processes and ensuring fiscal discipline within a growing enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and treasury.
• Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial reporting for internal management and external stakeholders.
• Manage the annual budgeting process and provide variance analysis against actual results.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations and tax requirements.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior accounting management role.
• In-depth knowledge of financial accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong experience with financial software and ERP systems, alongside advanced Excel proficiency.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
