About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Financial Controller to manage their accounting operations and financial reporting in Liverpool . This key role involves overseeing all aspects of the accounting function, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial statement preparation. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, provide critical analysis to support business decisions, and maintain strong internal controls. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to lead a finance team and contribute significantly to the financial health and strategic direction of the company within a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, and payroll.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Manage the annual budgeting process and perform variance analysis against actual results.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional growth and high performance.
Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is essential.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS accounting principles.
- Proven experience in financial statement preparation, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication abilities.
