About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive Financial Controller to lead their finance operations based in Birmingham . This senior position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting operations, financial planning, and risk management. You will play a critical role in shaping the company's financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and driving profitability. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and direct the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and enhance internal controls.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working with various departments to set financial targets.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic business decisions and investment opportunities.
- Oversee cash flow management and treasury functions, ensuring adequate liquidity.
Requirements
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a senior finance management role, ideally within the manufacturing or service industry.
- Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a finance team.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in financial data.
