About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead their finance operations in Coventry . This senior position is responsible for managing all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, and compliance. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of the organization, overseeing a dedicated team and collaborating with senior management to drive business performance. This is a demanding yet rewarding role for a meticulous and strategic finance professional based in the Coventry area.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare accurate and timely statutory financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
- Manage the audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring all requirements are met.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.
- Lead and develop the finance team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Support strategic initiatives by providing financial analysis, modeling, and advice to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
- Demonstrated experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior financial management role.
- In-depth knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience in manufacturing or a related industry is highly desirable.
