🚗 £6,000 Car Allowance ⏰ 40 Hours Per Week Shape the Future of Fire Engineering We're looking for a Fire Engineer to join a growing and highly respected fire engineering team based in Harlow. Working closely with the Head of Fire Engineering, you'll play a key role in delivering fire strategies, technical reviews, engineering assessments, and Building Safety Regulator support across a diverse portfolio of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their technical expertise, work on complex schemes including higher-risk buildings, and progress their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking consultancy environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Producing fire strategies for new and existing developments.
• Undertaking technical fire safety reviews and engineering assessments.
• Developing retrospective fire strategy reports.
• Supporting Building Regulations compliance and Building Safety Regulator submissions.
• Reviewing architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
• Liaising directly with clients, design teams and key stakeholders.
• Contributing to projects across multiple sectors and RIBA stages.

About You

You'll ideally have: ✅ A degree in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering or a related discipline. ✅ Experience producing fire strategies and technical fire safety reports. ✅ Strong knowledge of:

• Approved Document B
• BS 9991
• BS 9999
• BS 7974 ✅ Understanding of the Building Safety Act and UK Building Regulations. ✅ Excellent report writing and client-facing communication skills. ✅ Ability to review and interpret design information and construction drawings. Desirable Experience
• Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE).
• Working towards or holding IEng or CEng status.
• Experience with Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs).
• Building Safety Regulator submission experience.
• Knowledge of passive fire protection, smoke control, façade fire safety or structural fire engineering.
• Experience across RIBA Stages 0-7.
• Familiarity with BIM, Bluebeam or fire modelling software.
