Fleet Specialist Mechanic - Northampton

An established organisation is seeking a Fleet Specialist Mechanic to join its repairs team in Northampton on an initial 3-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with hands-on mechanical, engineering, maintenance, or repair experience who are looking to develop their skills within a growing operation. Full training will be provided, making this role suitable for individuals with strong practical aptitude, even if they do not have direct electric vehicle experience.

Location: Northampton NN4 Start Date: ASAP Contract Length: 3 Months Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm Weekend Work: Required on a rota basis Pay Rate: £14.14 per hour

Responsibilities

Diagnose, maintain, and repair electric vehicles Support the preparation and handling of new vehicle inventory Carry out inspections and basic fault finding Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment Work closely with the wider repairs and operations teams

Ideal Candidate

Experience in a mechanical, engineering, maintenance, assembly, fitting, or repair-based role Practical and hands-on approach to work Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Willingness to learn and undertake training.
