Flight Operations Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Flight Operations Officer to join their central operations team based in Leeds . This dynamic role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and punctual planning and execution of flight schedules. You will work closely with pilots, cabin crew, ground handling, and air traffic control to manage all operational aspects of flights. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for aviation and strong logistical skills to be at the forefront of flight management in a busy operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and optimize flight routes, considering weather conditions, air traffic, aircraft performance, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor flight progress in real-time, making necessary adjustments to ensure safety and punctuality.
• Communicate effectively with flight crews, dispatchers, and other stakeholders to provide updates and resolve operational issues.
• Manage flight documentation, including flight plans, NOTAMs, and weather briefings.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable aviation regulations and company operating procedures.
• Coordinate with various departments to manage irregular operations, including diversions and cancellations.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in Flight Operations or a related aviation field.
• A strong understanding of flight planning principles, meteorology, and air traffic control procedures.
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills, particularly under pressure.
• Proficiency in using flight operations software and communication tools.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts and weekends, as required by operational demands.
