Job Description
Elevate Projects are working in partnership with our client, to appointing an experieced Flood Risk Engineer to the Planning & Development team.
Responsibilities
- Assessment of planning applications; ordinary watercourse consents; flood risk assessments and drainage strategies in accordance with national and local standards and policies.
- Provision of technical support to the highway development team on planning applications including interpreting drainage strategies and flood risk assessments.
- Undertaking Technical Approvals on drainage design and drainage model submissions, ensuring designs are compliant with national legislation, National Standards and Policy.
- Provision of advice on drainage submissions associated with Sections 38, 278 Highways Act 1980 and Section 106 agreements under the Town and Country Planning Act. Flood Risk Management
- Providing support to develop the process and procedures on flood incident investigations and flood risk management.
- Carrying out investigations into drainage and flood related problems including the preparation of reports as required.
- Assessment and recording of flood risk areas including the development and delivery of policies, strategies and action plans.
- Co-ordinate the consultation and communication of flood risk issues with other risk authorities including the Environment Agency; Water and Emergency service providers
- Preparation of grant applications or bids to obtain funding in support of flood mitigation and major drainage improvement schemes
