Forestry Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Forestry Operations Manager to oversee and optimize forest management activities. This role involves a blend of field assessment and strategic planning, requiring a presence on-site as well as remote coordination. You will be responsible for ensuring the sustainable harvesting, regeneration, and conservation of forest resources, adhering to strict environmental regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of forestry science, operational logistics, and team leadership. This is a critical position for driving efficient and responsible forest management practices within the agriculture and forestry sectors .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and monitor forestry operations , including harvesting, reforestation, and silvicultural treatments.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and sustainable forestry certifications.
• Manage budgets, resources, and operational logistics for forest management projects.
• Supervise and coordinate field crews, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Conduct regular site assessments and analyze data to inform management decisions and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Significant experience in forest management and operations , with a proven track record.
• Strong knowledge of forest ecology, silviculture, and sustainable forest management principles.
• Experience with GIS, GPS, and forest inventory systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
