Forestry Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking a physically fit and motivated Forestry Worker to join their team managing woodlands and forestry resources in the Norwich area. This role involves a range of practical tasks focused on forest management, including tree planting, maintenance, harvesting, and conservation efforts. You will work outdoors in various conditions, contributing to the health and sustainability of local forests and woodlands. Key Responsibilities

• Perform tree planting, silvicultural treatments, and forest thinning operations.
• Assist with the harvesting of timber and other forest products, ensuring safe and efficient procedures.
• Conduct routine maintenance of forest roads, trails, and boundaries.
• Undertake conservation work, including habitat restoration and wildlife monitoring.
• Operate and maintain forestry equipment, such as chainsaws, brush cutters, and basic vehicles.
• Adhere to strict health and safety regulations and work effectively within a team environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in forestry, arboriculture, or a related outdoor labor role is beneficial.
• Proficiency in operating chainsaws and other basic forestry tools.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• A strong understanding of health and safety in a woodland environment.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions from forestry supervisors.
