Forestry Worker

About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and physically fit Forestry Worker to join their team responsible for managing woodlands in the scenic Plymouth area. This hands-on role involves a variety of tasks related to tree planting, maintenance, harvesting, and general woodland care. You will contribute to the sustainable management of forest resources, ensuring the health and growth of trees, and assisting in timber production. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors in a natural environment and is committed to conservation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planting new trees and saplings in designated areas.
• Perform thinning, pruning, and undergrowth management to promote healthy tree growth.
• Operate chainsaws and other forestry equipment for felling and logging operations.
• Assist with the maintenance and repair of forestry tracks and boundaries.
• Contribute to habitat management and conservation activities within the woodlands.

Requirements

• Previous experience in forestry, agriculture, or a related outdoor environment.
• Proficiency with chainsaws and other relevant forestry tools and machinery.
• Ability to work effectively and safely in rugged, outdoor conditions.
• Basic knowledge of tree species and woodland ecosystems.
• A commitment to health and safety regulations in the workplace.
