Forestry Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking a hardworking and reliable Forestry Worker to join their team in the Norwich area. You will be involved in a variety of practical forestry tasks, including planting, thinning, harvesting, and general woodland maintenance. This role requires physical fitness, a willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and a commitment to safe working practices. You will contribute directly to the management and health of forest ecosystems, ensuring sustainable timber production and habitat preservation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform tree planting, tending, and maintenance operations.
• Assist with timber harvesting activities, including felling and processing trees.
• Conduct general woodland management tasks, such as brashing, clearing undergrowth, and maintaining access routes.
• Operate and maintain forestry equipment and machinery safely.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Identify and report any signs of disease, pests, or damage to trees.

Requirements

• Previous experience in forestry, arboriculture, or a related outdoor manual labour role is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of forestry operations and equipment.
• Ability to work physically demanding tasks outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong commitment to health and safety procedures.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Willingness to undertake training for specific machinery or techniques.
