Forestry Worker

About the Role

Our client requires a reliable and diligent Forestry Worker to join their woodland management team in the area around Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, UK . This is a practical, outdoor role focused on carrying out essential forestry tasks such as tree planting, thinning, felling, and general woodland maintenance. You will work as part of a team dedicated to sustainable forest management, conservation, and timber production. This position is perfect for individuals who enjoy physical work in an outdoor environment and have a respect for nature and conservation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Planting young trees and assisting with reforestation projects.
• Carrying out basic tree felling and **timber harvesting** operations under supervision.
• Performing woodland thinning and clearing of undergrowth.
• Maintaining forest paths, firebreaks, and boundaries.
• Operating and maintaining basic forestry tools and equipment, such as chainsaws and hand tools.
• Assisting with wildlife habitat improvement and general site maintenance.

Requirements

• Previous experience in forestry, landscaping, or a physically demanding outdoor role is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of trees, woodland environments, and forestry operations.
• Ability to use hand tools and operate basic machinery safely.
• Good physical fitness and stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
• A recognized forestry or chainsaw certificate would be an advantage.
