Formulation Scientist - Solid Dosage Forms

About the Role

Our client is recruiting a skilled Formulation Scientist specializing in Solid Dosage Forms to join their dynamic research and development department in Bristol . This role is critical in the design, development, and optimization of innovative oral solid dosage formulations for new and existing pharmaceutical products. You will leverage your expertise in pre-formulation, formulation development, and process understanding to create robust and effective drug products that meet patient needs. Key Responsibilities

• Develop novel and generic oral solid dosage formulations (e.g., tablets, capsules).
• Conduct pre-formulation studies, including API characterization and excipient compatibility.
• Design and execute experiments for formulation optimization and scale-up.
• Evaluate and select appropriate excipients to achieve desired product performance.
• Prepare technical documentation for formulation development and regulatory submissions.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development, with a focus on solid dosage forms.
• In-depth knowledge of drug delivery systems and excipient functionalities.
• Hands-on experience with formulation and manufacturing equipment.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical product development.
