About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Formulation Scientist to join their product development team in Southampton . In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of pharmaceutical formulations for various dosage forms. Your work will be critical in translating scientific discoveries into stable, effective, and patient-friendly medicinal products. This position requires a blend of scientific expertise, practical laboratory skills, and a deep understanding of pharmaceutical technology and regulatory considerations for new drug development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop novel pharmaceutical formulations (e.g., oral solids, injectables, topical) for various therapeutic indications.
- Conduct pre-formulation studies, including characterization of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and excipients.
- Perform formulation development experiments, optimization, and stability testing in accordance with protocols.
- Utilize various analytical techniques to characterize formulations and assess their physical and chemical properties.
- Document all experimental procedures and results meticulously, contributing to regulatory submission documents.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical formulation development .
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment for formulation preparation and characterization.
- Knowledge of excipient functionality, drug delivery systems, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA) pertaining to formulation development.
