Formwork Carpenter – Plymouth

Location: Plymouth

Start – Feb 2027

Duration: Long-term work

Basic Rate: £24.26 per hour

Overtime 1: £36.39 per hour

Overtime 2: £48.52 per hour

Pay Type: WRA PAYE

Carmichael UK are looking for experienced Formwork Carpenters to join a major long-term infrastructure project based in Plymouth.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Formwork Carpenters looking for long-term, stable work on a major civil engineering project.

Security Clearance Requirements

This role is subject to BPSS security clearance and additional project security vetting

Applicants must be willing and able to successfully complete the required security vetting process before starting on site

Candidates will be required to provide the necessary identity, right-to-work, employment history and supporting documentation as part of the vetting process

Due to the specific security requirements of the project, applicants must also meet the nationality requirements applicable to the site and must be a national of a NATO member country

The Role

Duties will include:

Formwork carpentry on reinforced concrete structures

Erecting and striking traditional formwork

Working with shutters, bases, walls and other concrete structures

Measuring, cutting and assembling timber formwork

Reading and working from drawings

Working safely as part of the wider site team

Maintaining high standards of workmanship and site safety

Requirements

Previous experience as a Formwork Carpenter

Valid CSCS card relevant to the trade

Experience working on civil engineering or major construction projects

Good understanding of formwork and reinforced concrete works

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Reliable and committed to long-term work

This position is subject to BPSS security clearance. Due to the specific security requirements of the project, applicants must be nationals of a NATO member country
