Freight Forwarder Specialist (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder Specialist to join their dynamic, fully remote team, providing essential services for operations related to Portsmouth . This role is crucial for managing the end-to-end process of international shipping, ensuring that goods are transported efficiently, compliantly, and cost-effectively across borders. You will be the primary point of contact for clients regarding their international freight needs, coordinating with carriers, customs brokers, and other partners to facilitate smooth transit. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while contributing significantly to global trade facilitation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of international freight forwarding, including air, sea, and land transportation.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including customs declarations and bills of lading.
• Coordinate with carriers, airlines, shipping lines, and road hauliers to secure bookings and competitive rates.
• Track shipments, provide regular updates to clients, and proactively resolve any transit delays or issues.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant international trade regulations, customs laws, and security protocols.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and other supply chain partners.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar international logistics role.
• In-depth knowledge of international shipping procedures, Incoterms, and customs clearance processes.
• Strong negotiation skills with carriers to secure favorable rates and service levels.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in freight forwarding software and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced remote environment.
